Funding from the National Endowment for the Arts is on the horizon for arts and humanities in New York state.
On Friday U.S. Senators Kirsten Gillibrand and Charles Schumer announced that 549 projects around the state will be supported. New York is in line to receive over $16.5 million in federal grants.
This year both the National Endowment for the Arts and the National Endowment for the Humanities had a budget of 149.8 million each. Funding for both institutions is eliminated in President Trump's proposed budget for the 2018 fiscal year.
