A Williamsville woman will go to jail for stealing money from her elderly mother.

55-year-old Sandra Krok will spend six months in jail and five years on probation for using a power of attorney to take money from her widowed mother's bank account without her knowledge.

Krok pleaded guilty to Grand Larceny in the Third Degree in September 2015 for stealing $290,346 thousand dollars between April 2012 and March 2015. She has been ordered to make full restitution by Judge Thomas P. Franczyk.

Krok claimed the money was being used to pay her daughters' college tuition but records show the money was used for trips and luxury items.

Krok was also sentenced for failing to pay almost $25,000 in state taxes.
