Southside Elementary School in Buffalo was locked down at around 9:30 a.m. Monday, after police received a report that a student may possess a gun.
Police K-9 units searched the school and two toy water pistols were recovered from a male student. Police said no charges will be filed against the student.
The lockdown was lifted about an hour later and regular activities were resumed for the summer school students in attendance.
Two weeks ago, the Charles R. Drew Science Magnet School at the Buffalo Museum of Science was locked down for several hours after reports that a student had a gun. After a search, a BB gun that police said was an exact replica of a Glock handgun was found.
Last week, an inoperable handgun was found in a student's backpack during a search at the science magnet.
