Starpoint Middle student charged with making terroristic threat
Niagara County Sheriff Michael Filicetti has announced the arrest of a student from Starpoint Middle School in Lockport.
On Sunday, the Sheriff's Office said it received a report of a photograph circulating on the Snapchat social media app indicating possible violence at the school and began an investigation. That resulted in a felony charge of making a terroristic threat filed against the student.
The juvenile suspect was released into the custody of his parents and will appear at Niagara County Probation at a future date.
In a statement, Filicetti said Starpoint school officials worked cooperatively in the investigation, and added that his office will continue to investigate all school threats and take appropriate action.
