Police announced the arrest and arraignment of a Buffalo teen in Buffalo City Court in connection with a burglary and shooting Tuesday that wounded two people, one of them fatally.

Vincent Manirakiza, 19, is charged with one count of second degree murder and a violent felony count of second degree burglary.

Manirakiza is accused of unlawfully entering a residence in the 200 block of Koons Avenue, on Buffalo's East Side, intending to commit a crime. During that crime, he is accused of shooting a 17-year-old female and 19-year-old male. Police say the shooting appears to have been targeted.

The female victim died at the scene and the male is currently hospitalized in stable condition at the Erie County Medical Center.

Manirakiza has a felony court hearing on Feb. 1 and is being held without bail. If convicted of both charges, he faces a maximum of 25 years to life in prison.

Buffalo Police said they also are investigating a Tuesday night shooting in the Grant-Ferry neighborhood of the city's West Side.

Detectives said a 36-year-old Buffalo woman is listed in critical condition and a 47-year-old Buffalo man is in stable condition at ECMC after the gun assault at around 11:30 p.m. in the 200 block of Auburn Avenue.

Anyone with information on either shooting is asked to call or text the Buffalo Police anonymous TIP-CALL line, at 716-847-2255.
