Buffalo Bills General Manager Brandon Beane addressed the media Tuesday.

The Buffalo Bills announced Tuesday that a staff member who works with players tested positive for COVID-19, even though that staffer had been vaccinated.

General Manager Brandon Beane said the team decided to send some players home "to get out in front of this" and the team continues to keep their building as safe as possible.

"None of them have tested positive, but due to close contact, they'll have to be out five days from when their last contact," Beane said.

Beane said "there's a chance" a player or two would be back by game day. Those players sent home are defensive tackle Vernon Butler, defensive tackle Star Lotulelei, wide receiver Gabe Davis and wide receiver Cole Beasley.

"With that said, this is part of the world we're in and fortunately, it's preseason and no other positives will show up. If they do, we'll deal with them," Beane said.

He said the team is around 80% vaccinated. The Bills are scheduled to play the Green Bay Packers at home Saturday.
