St. Joe's forfeiting remainder of its hockey season

St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute

The private, all-boys high school St. Joseph's Collegiate Institute in Buffalo is canceling and forfeiting the remainder of its Federation Hockey Team season. That includes the school's participation in this coming weekend's State Catholic Hockey Tournament at Coney Island.

The decision follows an internal school investigation into the team, which found that several players violated the school's Code of Conduct during a recent incident that took place outside of school hours and off school property. Details of the incident were not disclosed, nor were the identities of the involved players.

In a statement, St. Joe’s President Christopher Fulco said the behavior is unacceptable and there must be consequences.
