According to a report by ESPN's Adam Shefter, Buffalo Bills wide receiver Sammy Watkins will travel to North Carolina this week for a consultation with a doctor who is expected to recommend that he have a second surgery on his foot, effectively ending his season.Watkins had surgery on his foot during the offseason. That surgery was considered successful, and he was able to play, though he was in a great deal of pain and sat out the team's third game of the season.
The Bills placed Watkins on injured reserve on Friday, hoping he would recover with rest. The team can return one player on injured reserve to the active roster after eight weeks.
