Press Pass: Staycation destinations in WNY

There are just a few weeks left in summer 2015. While many people enjoy traveling to out-of-town destinations for their vacations, there’s plenty to do in Western New York for those of you who want to stay close to home. WBFO's Mark Scott is joined by Buffalo Spree editor Elizabeth Licata in this week's Press Pass to talk about "staycations."

We’re all familiar with such local destinations as Chautauqua, Ellicottville and Niagara-on-the-Lake. But there are some out-of-the-way destinations Elizabeth and her writers visited. They include Joseph Davis State Park and the Royalton Ravine in Niagara County to the north and the Erie County Forest to the south.

Mark and Elizabeth also talk about the 200-year-old Coit House in Buffalo's Allentown neighborhood, the 30th anniversary of Squeaky Wheel and an exhibit  of animation at the Albright-Knox Art Gallery.

On Tuesday, August 18, at 5:30 p.m., Buffalo Spree subscribers are invited to a party at the Glen Park Tavern in Williamsville where the September issue will be unveiled.
