WBFO News File Photo

The polls have opened for Election Day 2014.  Many eyes are on the race for the Governor's mansion, but there are a few other contests to watch as well today.

Statewide, voters will be choosing a Governor between Incumbent Democrat Andrew Cuomo, Republican Rob Astorino, Howie Hawkins of the Green Party, Libertarian Michael McDermott and Sapient Party candidate Steve Cohn.

In the race for the State Comptroller's Office, Incumbent Democrat Thomas DiNapoli faces Republican Robert Antonacci.

The State Attorney General's race sees Democratic Incumbent Eric Schneiderman is facing off against Republican John Cahill.

The 60th State Senate seat is said to be too close too call with Democrat Marc Panepinto and Republican Kevin Stocker seeking to knock off Incumbent Mark Grisanti, a Republican defeated by Stocker in the September primary.

The 62nd State Senate District is another open race with Republican George Maziarz retiring - pitting Democrat Johnny Destino against Republican Robert Ortt.

In the 143rd State Assembly District, the seat vacated by Dennis Gabryszak, finds  Democrat Mark Mazurek facing off against Republican Angela Wozniak in yet another high profile contest.

The 26th Congressional District race has heated up between Incumbent Democrat  Brian Higgins and his Republican Challenger Kethy Weppner.  Meanwhile another Incumbant, Republican Chris Collins faces a challenge from Democrat James O'Donnell in the 27th Congressional District.

The polls are open until 9 this evening.
