TM Montante Development has unveiled a $40 million plan for its next phase of redeveloping the former Millard Fillmore hospital site on Gates Circle in Buffalo.

It announced a collaboration with Belmont Housing Resources for Western New York to build 70 affordable apartments at the northern end of the former hospital complex, including 27 one-bedroom, 40 two-bedroom and three 3-bedroom units.

Seven of the 70 units will be for residents with mobility impairments and another three will be for persons with hearing and/or visual impairments.

There will also be a mix of uses in the facilities at the southern end of the campus, including about 40 new apartments and up to 15,000 square feet of new retail and commercial space.
