An overnight fire on the city's East Side has claimed a life.
Buffalo Fire Division Chief Daniel Bossi told WGRZ-TV that crews arrived on the scene of 49 Goodyear Ave., near Broadway, to find a home nearly engulfed in flames.
Firefighters weren't able to enter the home until much of the fire had been put out. Rescue then found a victim, dead on the scene.
The person was not identified, but police and fire are investigating.
