Erie County has reversed a major decision in regards to COVID-related attendance restrictions for this upcoming Bills season.
Erie County is no longer going to require fans to be vaccinated for COVID-19 in order to attend Buffalo Bills games and other events, like concerts, at Highmark Stadium this fall.
County Executive Mark Poloncarz tweeted the latest development Sunday afternoon, citing few new cases, low hospitalizations, and a high regional vaccination rate.
Based on few new COVID-19 cases (0 on Friday and 4 yesterday out of thousands of tests), low hospitalizations, and good vaccination rates, we are rescinding the vaccination requirement to attend Bills games and stadium events. We will revisit in future if circumstances warrant. pic.twitter.com/DO9echOulB

In April, Poloncarz stood strongly in requiring proof of vaccination to attend Bills home games and other events at the stadium.
The county executive also pointed out this latest policy of no proof of COVID vaccination is subject to revision should issues arise.
The NFL itself has laid out its vaccination which applies only to team players and staff, and places heavy restrictions on those who are unvaccinated.
