Members of the public who qualified through a pre-screening began rolling up to a COVID-19 test site Thursday in Cheektowaga.
Testing is being conducted by appointment only, and those who schedule them must first answer a series of questions including whether they are feeling symptoms, how long they have felt them, where they feel they may have been exposed and whether they have underlying chronic health conditions.

Upon arrival, motorists are checked for identification and proof of appointment. They will then, according to a Quest official, undergo a test that is conducted by inserting a swab into the nose and into the back of the throat. Some testing sites may also have the option of providing samples of spit and phlegm from one's cough.
The testing is, according to the Quest official, conducted following Centers for Disease Control guidelines. Quest is not offering COVID testing at its clinical branches.
The test site's daily hours are 9 a.m. until 4 p.m. For more information, candidates may call Quest at 866-448-7719, from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m.
