The National Weather Service is posting a winter weather advisory for much of Western New York Wednesday.
Lake effect snow will develop in the immediate Buffalo area early Wednesday. The snow bands will then move south into ski country during the day.
Snow accumulations will be in the three to five inch range.
The day before Thanksgiving is traditionally one of the busier travel days of the year. National Weather Service forecaster Kurt Apffel said strong winds could cause some blowing snow and reduced visibility for drivers.
