Road crews preparing for winter weather

Erie County
County officials say they have access to 20,000 tons of salt which is stored at 15 facilities around the county.

With five new plows added to Erie County's snow-removal fleet and access to 20,000 tons of salt, county officials believe they're ready for the winter season. In a morning interview with WBFO, Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz encouraged the public to prepare as well.  He says residents should stock up with food and other necessities, including a 10-day supply of prescription drugs.
