UberEATS arrives in Buffalo

Chris Caya WBFO News

Getting food delivered from local eateries is now as easy as hailing a ride.

Uber is expanding its services in the Buffalo area. The ride-hailing company is now offering UberEATS, a food delivery platform with menus from over 60 local eateries. UberEATS General Manager Jon Feldman says using the service is quick and easy.

"For people at home who are hungry, you can still use your existing Uber account. You do not need to create a new account, but there is a separate app to download. You can go to UberEATS.comor the Apple or Google app stores and download [the app]. And you can log in quickly with the same account, the same payment information, and get ordering right away," Feldman said at a news conference in Osteria 166, one of the participating restaurants.

Feldman says the new service gives Uber drivers opportunities for more earnings because they can do both transportation and food delivery.

Menu pricing is set by the restaurants but there is a $5.99 booking fee through the app. Deliveries are available seven days a week.
