Governor Andrew Cuomo is ordering a full investigation into an alleged hate crime in the Southern Tier Village of Wellsville.

State Police and the State Division of Human Rights will be examining graffiti at a softball field dugout that displayed a spray-painted swastika and the words “Make America White Again.”

Cuomo said “New York has zero tolerance for bigotry, fear and hatred, and those who seek to undermine the core values” the state and nation were founded on.

He said those responsible for the graffiti will be held to the fullest extent of the law.

The Western New York Peace Center is holding a unity rally in Niagara Square Sunday afternoon in opposition to hatred and bigotry. Those interested are invited to show up between noon and 3 p.m.
