A report of a possible accident at the canal in the City of Tonawanda triggered an underwater search last night. City police received a call about tire tracks leading to the water. The Police Underwater Squad investigated the scene, concluding that there was no vehicle in the vicinity of the tracks. Police also state that no reports of missing persons or vehicles were reported at the time.
The tracks at the canal were spotted near East Niagara Street and Fillmore Avenue.
