Two pedestrians killed, one injured in Wheatfield

Town of

Two persons were killed and a third was seriously injured when they were struck by a car while walking on Shawnee Road in the town of Wheatfield early this morning.

The Buffalo News is identifying the fatalities as 18 year old Melanie Aronow of Amherst, and 18 year old Quience Harper of Lockport. A third person in the group, 18 year old Quincy Byrd of Lockport, was taken by Mercy Flight to Erie County Medical Center. A fourth person walking with the group was not injured and called 9-1-1.

Cars were parked on both sides of Shawnee because of a nearby house party. The driver of the vehicle, 20 year old Carly Marrs, was taken to DeGraff Hospital with minor injuries. No charges have been filed at this point; investigators interviewed Marrs and characterize her as "cooperative."
