On Saturday two people were taken to Erie County Medical Center after being thrown from a speed boat that flipped over in the Niagara River.
The accident happened near the Gratwick Waterfront Park in North Tonawanda. The male passenger was unconscious with severe head and leg injuries and the female passenger had no serious injuries. Both were wearing life jackets.
The incident occurred during the Buffalo Poker Run charity event. The victim's names have not been released. The cause of the capsize is being investigated by the Niagara County Sheriff's office.
