Slow Roll Buffalo opens 2016 season

A new season of Buffalo's "Slow Roll" begins Sunday. Organizer Seamus Gallivan says "Slow Roll" is a free community bike ride for people of all ages, held each week through October 31st. He said the rides take participants through various city neighborhoods.

"'Slow Roll' allows people to take in sites and scenes at a slow pace in a social way, (giving them) a better understanding and appreciation of our city," Gallivan said.

The theme of Sunday's season opener, "Parkway Revival Ride," was expected to take riders from Delaware Park to the Humboldt Parkway neighborhood.

The next "Slow Roll" will be held on Monday, May 16th. Dubbed the "Unity Ride," it will take riders along Main Street from downtown to Bailey Avenue.
