St. Bonaventure University has received funds towards its new facility. The Center for Arab and Islamic Studies has received $70,000 from donors in its Western New York community.
Among those donors is the Islamic Society of the Souther Tier. The organization feels that the new center is important and will produce greater understanding and tolerance in the region.
The Center for Arab and Islamic Studies opened last fall and has featured guest speakers, and courses on Islamic art and architecture and Christian-Muslim relations.
