Buffalo is back in the spotlight. And not for its weather. The city will be the subject of a new series on Yahoo! News hosted by Katie Couric.
The former CBS Evening News Anchor, and former Today Show host, was in town Tuesday to interview local residents. Couric says her focus is on cities rising in America.
"Buffalo has faced some difficult times. But they're really coming back in a significant way. And so I thought it would be a fun series to take a look at some of these urban areas that have faced challenges, from whether it's the new economy, the recession, a changing economic base with the transition from manufacturing to technology and service industries," Couric said.
Buffalo has a fantastic story to tell, Couric said. And she says it's exciting to be able to have a positive story in the media and to be able to talk about a city that's coming together, and seeing wonderful things happen. She says the story will be published on Yahoo January 15th.
