Some new trends and old favorites among the most borrowed library books of 2015

Buffalo and Erie County Public Library

What were you reading this year?  The Buffalo and Erie County Public Library is out with the annual list of the most popular borrowed materials for 2015.

For the first time, the list includes a book about Buffalo, published in Buffalo. It also includes some familiar authors like John Grisham and James Patterson.  Then, of course what some might consider the obvious, books on Star Wars, the Disney movie "Frozen" and the old standby, Diary of a Wimpy Kid.

"The Girl on the Train" by Paula Hawkins was among the most popular Adult Fiction titles.

"Wall of Snow: The Historic WNY Snowstorm of 2014" by The Buffalo News was among the most borrowed in Adult Non-Fiction.

All three of the most popular titles in Children's Fiction are from the "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" series by Jeff Kinney.

In Children's Non-Fiction, "Star Wars Character Encyclopedia" and "Frozen: The Essential Guide" topped the list.
