A funding package received by the Western New York Regional Economic Development Council will go toward renovations at The Buffalo Zoo.
The grant in the amount of $500,000 comes from The Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation.
The award will go toward the zoo's 73-year-old Reptile House. Renovations to the historic facility will cost 2.5 million dollars. A few of the renovations include a new roof, skylights and upgrades to mechanical and life support systems. When renovations are complete the space will be called the Amphibian Reptile Center.
