A suspicious package forced Niagara County Sheriff's deputies to cordon off a section of Old Falls Street last night. A sighting of the  package was made at around 9 o'clock while July Fourth activities were ongoing. The package was described by a witness as a bag with a lock on it. The item was investigated and nothing suspicious was identified. Niagara Falls Police are scanning surveillance video from nearby cameras in an effort to find the person who placed the bag on the street.

The fireworks display and other festivities continued as scheduled.

Saturday & Sunday 6 a.m. to 12 p.m.
