Buffalo Bills and Buffalo Sabres owners Terry and Kim Pegula were honored Friday by the Buffalo Renaissance Foundation as the organization's Citizens of the Year.
The Pegulas received the honor at the Foundation's spring luncheon, held inside Kleinhans Music Hall. They were recognized for their contributions to the Buffalo and Western New York community, from their mixed-use downtown development HarborCenter to their purchases of the Sabres and Bills, the latter of which helped secure the team's long-term future in town following the death of founding owner Ralph Wilson last year.
As part of the luncheon, the Pegulas and Buffalo Bills head coach Rex Ryan participated in a roundtable conversation moderated by former Buffalo Bills player and current network television football analyst Steve Tasker.
