Being at end of pipeline blamed for high gas prices

Gasoline prices in Western New York are typically higher than other regions, and a report released by the US Energy Information Administration offers at least one explanation as to why. The report, requested by the state Attorney General's Office, indicates that Buffalo is at the end of two supply pipelines. Therefore, the Buffalo region is slower to respond to price reductions than other locales.

Local gas prices are averaging $2.57 per gallon, though the national average stands at $2.03 per gallon.
