A Buffalo woman has pleaded guilty to stealing government funds. The US Attorney's office has announced that 33-year-old Candace Walker was found to have stolen more than $11,000 in unemployment insurance benefits from both the IRS and from a medical care facility. Walker was employed as a Contact Representative for the United States Department of the Treasury, Internal Revenue Service.
Her crime took place between 2010 and 2011.
She is facing a maximum penalty of one year in prison, a fine of $100,000 or both when she is sentenced in October.
