Russert exhibit en route to Buffalo History Museum

A team from the Buffalo History Museum is driving back from Washington D.C. today with a new exhibit for the Elmwood Avenue landmark that features one of Buffalo's favorite sons.

Buffalo History Museum Executive Director Melissa Brown and her staff have spent the past several days packing up the "Inside Tim Russert's Office" exhibit at the Newseum located near Capitol Hill.

"It's been interesting seeing the folks in Washington and how they respond to the exhibit. It certainly has gotten good attention here," Brown told WBFO News.

"I think it will have an interesting meaning to people from Buffalo and particularly South Buffalo given the personal connection to Tim Russert in our community."

It's not a big exhibit, but Brown says the content gives people a good feel for who Tim Russert was.

"It's a really interesting lens in on his world. You definitely can feel how important family and his home town was. And you also get a sense for what an amazing dynamic he had as a journalist and what influenced him in that sphere."

"Inside Tim Russert's Office" officially opens at the Buffalo History Museum in October.
