La Nova robber sentenced to 10 years in prison

File photo

The man who pleaded guilty to robbing two La Nova pizzeria employees of over $5,700 in restaurant receipts last October was sentenced Wednesday in State Supreme Court to ten years in prison. Terrance Price, 21, could have received a 25-year prison term. Price had reached into the car in which two employees were taking a bag of cash to the bank for deposit and took the bag. Other employees began chasing him, and he started shooting at them.

Price was eventually caught and held until police arrived. Price threw the bag of money into the back of a parked pickup truck, which then took off.

Price pleaded guilty to first-degree robbery and two counts of second-degree criminal possession of a weapon.

The money was never recovered and despite a court request from restaurant owner Joseph Todaro III, Price was not ordered to pay restitution.
