Members of Donald Trump's political inner circle are denying reports that the real estate mogul will not be running in New York's gubernatorial race. Rumors of Trump's departure from the race began with a blog entry connected with Rochester radio talk show host Bob Lonsberry. The blog post is based upon a statement connected with Trump that he would not enter a race that required a primary. Westchester County Executive Rob Astorino is vying for the Republican ticket in the race, which would set up a primary.
Trump political strategist Michael Cohen claims, "Only Mr. Trump can make a decision whether he will or will not run for Governor. Mr. Trump has not made a decision yet; he has said he will decide by early February. When he does, he will make a public statement." Cohen claims that Lonsberry misinterpreted information in an e-mail that he forwarded.
