A Lake Effect Snow Advisory has been extended to Southern Erie, Wyoming and Allegany Counties. It will remain in effect until 8 a.m. Wednesday. That advisory includes Orchard Park and Springville.
The advisory areas could receive another two to four inches of new snow Tuesday afternoon and three to six inches Tuesday evening. Winds will cause blowing and driving snow reducing visibility as low as a quarter of a mile at times.
A Lake Effect Snow warning remains in effect until 1 a.m. Wednesday for Chautauqua and Cattaraugus Counties that includes the cities of Jamestown and Olean. Four to eight inches of snow is expected Tuesday night in the warning area.
Strong lake effect snow is moving through Buffalo Tuesday morning as commuters headed into work. A band of heavy snow moved from downtown Buffalo to Amherst, making travel difficult.

The heaviest snow was most intense during the 8'o'clock hour in Metro Buffalo Tuesday.
A Lake Effect Snow advisory is in effect until 3 p.m. Tuesday for Northern Erie and Genesee counties. Three to five inches of new snow is expected.
Winds will gust up to 35-miles-per-hour causing some blowing and drifting snow.
