Legislation has been introduced by Congressman Chris Collins that would assist researchers in bringing their discoveries to the marketplace. The Transfer Act of 2013 would provide grants, on average around $50,000, to ease the transition from the laboratory to the commercial landscape for innovative developments. Collins is a member of the House Science, Space and Technology Committee. He claims that this bill will bring faster returns to taxpayers for their support of research institutions.
The announcement was made at the University at Buffalo.
