Assault case brings prison term
The court case in a brutal assault in the Town of Niagara has resulted in a 5 year state prison sentence. Nearly one year ago, Michael Vicki used a metal bar to bludgeon Nick Casal, a professional boxer. Casal missed a year of his career after suffering significant injuries. Vicki was charged with attempted first-degree assault; a charge of fifth degree insurance fraud was added in connection with a separate incident.
Upon release from prison, Vicki will face three years of supervision.
