Local politician facing harassment charge

A local political figure was arrested this weekend after attempting to contact his wife. Town of Tonawanda Councilman Daniel Crangle is facing second-degree harassment and third-degree stalking charges after he approached his wife of thirty years. The two have been estranged, and Crangle claims that he was hoping to reconcile. An order of protection was issued against Crangle and he was released by the court on his own recognizance.

Crangle claims that the report about the incident was released by police because there is some animosity between him and members of the department.

He also blames his political foes as this this is an election year.
