State Assembly Republican leader Brian Kolb has introduced legislation to eliminate a possible duplication of duties regarding the state's roadways.
Kolb is proposing that the New York State Thruway Authority be brought under the oversight of the State Department of Transportation, a merger of sorts. The benefits could potentially save taxpayers millions of dollars.
The legislation is far from approval but it is getting support from Amherst Assemblyman Ray Walter.
