Leaders in the Town of Grand Island say residents no longer need to restrict their water usage.
Back in July, Island residents were asked to voluntarily limit their usage at the peak of the hot, dry summer. But now, Town Supervisor Mary Cooke says there are now adequate levels in the town's system for fire fighting and everyday domestic use.
Cooke, in a written statement, is thanking residents for their "conservative and thoughtful" cooperation in one of the driest Julys in recorded history.
