A replica of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial Wall is now open to the public in Eden.
Newell-Faulkner Post 880, just off Route 62, is hosting this year's visit of the traveling Vietnam Memorial. The Wall runs the length of a football field and is billed as the largest replica of the original, complete with the names of all 58,261 U.S. servicemembers killed in Vietnam.
Harry Sheffield of Eden says he wanted to see the exhibit to show his respect to all the friends he lost in the war.
"I was lucky enough to be too young to be drafted. But I saw a lot of my friends and schoolmates go," Sheffield said.
"It's a wonderful thing that they can bring this to everyone, all over the place. It's very important," said Susan Predmore of Cherry Creek. "It's just incredible. It needs to be remembered."
The traveling Vietnam Memorial is open around the clock at the American Legion in Eden through 3pm Sunday afternoon.
