Statewide COVID rates down, Erie & Niagara County rates up

Gov. Andrew Cuomo had some good news...and some bad news...about COVID-19 Sunday.

Cuomo released the latest positivity rates for the state and all those rates are down from Saturday. He said New York now has a statewide positivity rate of 4.99%, a positivity rate of 6.17% in all Focus Zone areas and 4.59% outside all Focus Zone areas.

However, the positivity rate for Erie County's Yellow Zone went up, from 7.67% Saturday to 7.75% Sunday. Niagara County's Yellow Zone also went up over the weekend, from 8.51% to 8.75%.

The governor said another 69 people died across New York, for a statewide total death count just over 27,000. He holds another briefing Monday at 11 a.m.
