Hamburg COVID-19 testing site opens Friday

Walmart

Walmart and Quest Diagnostics are expanding their partnership to get Western New Yorkers tested for the coronavirus.

Last month, the two companies opened a drive-through testing site at the Cheektowaga Walmart on Walden Avenue. A similar operation will open on Friday in the parking lot of the Walmart store on Southwestern Boulevard in Hamburg.

Testing will be done Monday, Wednesday and Friday weekly 7 a.m.-9 a.m., weather permitting, although there will be operations this coming Tuesday since it will be shut down Monday for Memorial Day.

Walmart pharmacists will oversee the operation and Quest will process test results.

The nasal swab testing is for adults ages 18 and up and appointments must be made, either through the MyQuest website or app, or by phone at 866-448-7719.
