If you haven’t enrolled in the New York State Health Exchange yet, the deadline has been extended a few days. The original cut-off for January 1, 2015 enrollment was December 15, but the state moved the date to December 20, 2015 due to the November snow storm.
Independent Health Chief Marketing Officer Nora McGuire says people will have a little more time to navigate the exchanges and make their decision.
“People have a lot more choices now and they have access to a lot of different health plans and a lot of different product offerings with each of those health plans. So, it’s certainly an important decision that they need to make for themselves and their family, and evaluating that coverage on the overall value is an essential element for people to consider,” said McGuire.
The final date to enroll for coverage in the state exchange for this time around is February 15, 2015 for coverage beginning on March 1, 2015.
