Leaders of the Buffalo Public School District and Buffalo Teachers Federation are expected to hold a conversation Tuesday.
WBFO News has learned that Superintendent Dr. Kriner Cash and BTF President Phil Rumore were scheduled to meet late Tuesday afternoon.
The School District's communications assistant confirms for WBFO the talks will be held at the request of Dr. Cash.
Buffalo Teachers have worked without a contract for the past 12-years and in recent weeks negotiations have continued, but talks abruptly ended last week.
The school district has presented a proposed contract to the teachers.
Wages, work rules and health care costs remain major sticking points for the union.
The BTF has called for all teachers to convene for a major meeting October 17th in hopes of presenting a proposed contract deal.
