A high-ranking administrator at the University at Buffalo has resigned, effective immediately.
Dennis Black, UB's vice president for University Life and Services, has worked at the school for nearly 40 years. No reason was given for his departure, though UB president Satish Tripathi, in a memo, thanked Black for his service to the university and wished him well in his retirement.
Black has been a prominent figure at the university and served as dean of students for about a decade in the late 1980s and 90s.
Black's position will be filled, in the interim, by vice president for finance and administration Laura Hubbard. A search for Black's successor will begin in the coming weeks.
