Grape Street killer gets 64-to-life

Kenyatta Austin, 28, of Buffalo was sentenced In Erie County Court Monday afternoon to 64 years to life in prison.

Austin was found guilty of two counts of intentional second degree murder, two counts of second degree assault and one count of second degree criminal possession of a weapon, all felonies, back in February.

He was convicted of firing multiple gunshots at a group of people outside a home on Grape Street in Buffalo on July 2, 2018.

Yvette Johnson, 54, who was celebrating her birthday, was shot and killed. Her grandson, 17 month old Kyrie Johnson, who was being held by another person, was also killed.

Two other men were wounded and treated at Erie County Medical Center.
