Two people shot in 'targeted' attack

Buffalo Police officers from the Central District were called to a shooting just before 11 p.m. Sunday.

The shooting happened in the first block of Byrd Way, near William Street and Jefferson Avenue, on the city's East Side.

According to detectives, two people were stuck by gunfire: a 20-year-old man from Buffalo and a 19-year-old woman from Cheektowaga.

Both victims were taken to Erie County Medical Center. Police say the woman is in critical condition, while the man is in stable condition.

Investigators say the incident appears targeted in nature. Anyone with information is asked to call or text the Buffalo Police Confidential TIPCALL Line at 847-2255.
