Lackawanna man convicted of stabbing wife 30 times

A Lackawanna man, who stabbed his wife 30 times at their Madison Avenue home, has been found guilty of murder in the 2nd degree. On July 1 of last year, Daniel Whiting stabbed his 21-year-old wife Ashley, then himself, claiming that both were attacked by an intruder.

Jurors deliberated just under an hour before convicting Whiting  in Erie County Court. He was remanded to jail and faces 25 years to life when he is sentenced on August 15.
