Lackawanna Police have arrested Daniel Whiting, 27, Saturday morning at Erie County Medical Center for the murder of his wife Ashley Whiting, 21.

Whiting was sent to the Lackawanna Police Department and was arraigned by Judge Frederick Marrano. He is charged with second degree murder. The arrest comes after police responded to a call on July 1 and found the victim dead with multiple stab wounds. Daniel Whiting was also stabbed several times but survived and was taken to ECMC for surgery. Police had been investigating the murder and gathering evidence to send to the Erie County Central Police Services Lab for fingerprint and DNA analysis. Results from the lab along with statements from the investigation establish Daniel Whiting is a suspect.  Whiting has been sent to the Erie County Sheriff’s Holding Center without bail.
