Authorities bust two drug rings, arrest 32

Authorities have broken up two large-scale drug distribution rings operating in Western New York. State Attorney General Eric Schneiderman and State Police Superintendent Joseph D'Amico say 32 people have been indicted in connection with the networks in a 13-month joint investigation known as "Operation Crazy Train."

The narcotics were funneled into Buffalo, Rochester, and neighboring communities from places as far away as the Dominican Republic. Authorities seized nearly $1 million worth of heroin, hundreds of thousands of dollars in cocaine, and tens of thousands of dollars in cash over the course of the investigation.

The individuals, including seven from Buffalo and one from Jamestown, arrested face a variety of felonies. The suspects were arrested during a series of overnight raids.
